With Takenami We have, in cooperation and long search with a renowned knife maker in Sanjo (Japan) to create our own house brand .
The Sanjo region is known for its long history, tradition and, above all, its good reputation in the production of knife blades.
Takenami 's aim is to offer our customers real performers at a very good price/performance ratio and real "made in Japan " to be able to.
The X-Tsuchime knives from Takenami are hand- forged from SLD steel and have a one-piece handle made of real oak.
The blade is rounded off with a striking and unique Tsuchime (hammer finish), which is reminiscent of an " X " grid.
The core steel consists of SLD (Semi Stainless ) . This was originally developed for cutting other steels by Hitachi Steel Works .
In terms of its long edge retention and sharpness , it behaves just like carbon steel. However, it is much easier to maintain as there is hardly any risk of rust. The outer layers are made of stainless steel.
