Sharpening rods are particularly useful if you are looking for a solution to keep your knife sharp for as long as possible.
IOXIO sharpening rods are made of aluminum oxide ceramic. They combine the hardness of the whetstone with the shape of the conventional sharpening steel. The ceramic sharpening rod sharpens knives through material abrasion on the blade. The cutting edge is sharpened and reshaped.
The sharpening rods are not coated, but consist of a solid ceramic sharpening rod. This means that they hardly wear out when sharpening.
When sharpening, the abrasion from the knife is deposited on the ceramic. Our tip: Clean the sharpening rod regularly with a damp eraser sponge.
The white Ceramic is sintered and thus harder than any steel knife . The bar corresponds to a Japanese grain of 3000.
