
Good knives need good boards!
For this reason, Asahi has been producing synthetic cutting boards for over 50 years. The material used makes the boards especially suitable for Japanese knives and other high-quality blades. During this long period of time, Asahi has been able to continuously improve its products and now offers some of the highest quality cutting boards in the world.
Using a rubber-plastic board offers several great advantages:
- They are antibacterial and mold resistant . This is a big advantage over wooden cutting boards, which still contain bacteria even after washing.
- Asahi boards are gentle on knives . They have a wood-like texture and provide good feedback.
- Another big plus point is the scratch and wear resistance. In a test after 50,000 cuts in the in-house laboratory, the plastic board showed a 66% lower wear depth than conventional boards.
- Stability . Asahi cutting boards weigh 2kg+, so they don't slide around on the work surface.
These cutting boards are not dishwasher safe.
Furthermore, the use of saws and chopping knives is not recommended as these can damage the surface.
